About Richard
Richard G. Hepner is a Partner who began his career at Dutton Brock LLP as an articling student in 1993, made partner in 2002 and became co-managing partner in 2019. He runs an active defence practice for insurers and self-insured corporations, focused mainly on automobile insurance, products liability, occupiers' liability, personal injury and property damage claims, along with medical malpractice and non-insurance motor vehicle litigation. He completed a B.A. in Eastern European History at McGill University with distinction in 1990 before earning his law degree at Dalhousie University in 1993, and he was called to the Ontario Bar in 1995. He edited the firm's Counsel newsletter from shortly after its 1999 launch through 2005 and belongs to the Law Society of Ontario, the Advocates' Society, the Canadian Defence Lawyers Association and several other professional organizations.
