Richard G. Willoughby is a senior corporate partner at Torys LLP with deep experience in cross-border and international mergers and acquisitions. He counsels large institutional investors, businesses and family enterprises on strategic transactions. Drawing on both Canadian and U.S. experience, Willoughby advises on M&A and securities deals, with particular focus on the financial services sector, working with institutions, private equity firms, pension plans and family enterprises. He was based in the firm's New York office from 2000 to 2008 and earlier practiced in its London, England office from 1989 to 1992. Willoughby co-heads the firm's family enterprise practice and sits on its Executive Committee.
