About Richard

Richard Bars practises civil and commercial litigation, with experience in commercial disputes, construction and builders' liens, personal injury, medical malpractice, and professional regulation matters. He obtained his Juris Doctor from Robson Hall at the University of Manitoba in 2018 and was called to the Bar in 2019, having received the Cecil Black Memorial Prize and the D.A. Thompson Q.C. Prize during law school. Richard practised with a large Western Canadian law firm before joining Duboff Edwards Schachter Law Corporation as an associate in 2023, and has appeared before the Manitoba Court of King's Bench, the Manitoba Court of Appeal, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Throughout law school, he coordinated over 100 volunteer placements annually as Program Coordinator for Pro Bono Students Canada's Manitoba Chapter, and he currently sits on the board of Artspace Inc.
