About Richard
Richard Austin is Senior Counsel at Deeth Williams Wall and previously co-chaired the firm's Technology Law Practice. He practises exclusively in information technology, privacy, and cybersecurity law, advising on matters such as outsourcing, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, technology mergers and acquisitions, data security, and regulatory compliance. Before joining the firm, he spent 18 years as General Counsel of EDS Canada, one of the country's largest information technology service providers, advising senior management on the company's Canadian business. Richard holds an LL.B. from the University of Toronto and a B.Sc. in pure mathematics and M.Sc. in game theory from the University of Calgary, and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1985.
