About Richard

Richard Addelman is a founding partner of Addelman Baum Gilbert LLP and has practised criminal defence in Ottawa for decades. He graduated from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law in 1969 and went on to establish one of the first exclusive criminal defence practices in Canada. In 1975 he was among four lawyers who founded the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa, which now has more than 150 members. His practice covers drug possession, impaired driving, assault, fraud, and theft matters, drawing on decades of criminal law experience in Eastern Ontario.
