About Douglas
Douglas Baum is a founding partner of Addelman Baum Gilbert LLP. A graduate of Concordia University in Montreal and a former commissioned officer in the Royal Canadian Hussars, he earned his law degree from the University of Ottawa and was called to the bar in 1994. He practises criminal law, criminality-related immigration matters, and child protection litigation involving the Children's Aid Society. Doug is a past president of the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa and a member of the Criminal Lawyers Association, the County of Carleton Law Association, and the Bora Laskin Law Society. He appears regularly in the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice, and before tribunals including the Ontario Review Board and the Immigration Appeal Division, handling matters from drug trafficking to homicide as well as child apprehension cases under the Child and Family Services Act.
