About Rachel
Rachel Garrett's core practice areas include Aboriginal rights and title, consultation and accommodation, and natural resources. She represented the Quw'utsun Nation in its legal victory for recognition of title at Tl'uqtinus village lands and an Aboriginal right to fish, and served as judicial law clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada from 2024 to 2025 and at the Court of Appeal of Alberta from 2021 to 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in political science from the University of British Columbia, where she received the Jean Laponce Prize in 2018, a Juris Doctor from UBC in 2021 as a Wesbrook Scholar, and a Master of Laws from the University of Cambridge (Trinity College), graduating in 2023 with First Class Honours. She is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association, both since 2022, and during law school participated in moots and spent a year as a student legal researcher for the United Nations Human Rights Committee in Geneva.
