About R.
Brent advises Indigenous communities on treaty negotiation and implementation, Indigenous corporate and economic development, and governance. As legal counsel in the development and implementation of the Maa-nulth First Nations Final Agreement, he works with the five signatory Nations and other Indian Bands and non-treaty Nations to restore governance capacity and draft legislation. His work spans law enforcement, fisheries, forestry and housing, and he frequently presents to Indigenous societies, companies, governments and professional organizations. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association. He earned his LL.B. from the University of British Columbia and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1996 and the Yukon Bar in 2015.
