About Sonia

Sonia Virk is a co-founder of Virk Viyas & Associate Lawyers. She obtained a B.A. (Laws) and an LL.B. from Guru Nanak Dev University in Punjab, India, before emigrating to Canada and earning a second LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick. She articled with Yearwood & Company in British Columbia and was called to the BC bar in 2005. She co-founded Joomratty & Virk in 2008, then Virk Sabharwal in 2012, which later became Virk Viyas & Associate Lawyers. Her practice covers corporate and commercial law, residential and commercial real estate, wills and estates, and general litigation. She was elected President of the Indo Canadian Business Association of British Columbia in 2007, the youngest person and first woman to hold the role, and sits on the boards of G&F Financial and the Surrey Hospital Foundation.
