Peter R. Sheen practised labour and employment law for what the firm describes as an extraordinary 50-year career before retiring on December 31, 2025, and now serves Crawford Munroe Thomson LLP in a mentorship role. Sheen served as Vice-Chair of the BC Labour Relations Board from 1982 to 1985 and appeared before the BC and Yukon Supreme Courts, the BC Court of Appeal, the Federal Court's Trial Division and Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as before the BC Labour Relations Board, the Canada Industrial Relations Board, the BC Human Rights Tribunal, and the Canadian Human Rights Commission. Sheen co-founded a firm with Susan Arnold and Marcia McNeil before it joined Crawford Munroe Thomson in 2019, and Sheen was an adjunct professor of Labour Law at the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Law. Sheen earned a B.Comm (Hons) from the University of Manitoba in 1971 and an LL.B. from the University of Toronto in 1974, and was recognized as a leading labour and employment lawyer in Best Lawyers in Canada from 2011 to 2016, in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, and in Who's Who Legal.
