About Jessica
Jessica Thomson is a Partner at Crawford Munroe Thomson LLP practising labour and employment law across labour relations, employment standards, wrongful dismissal, human rights, workplace safety, and disciplinary matters in both British Columbia and Alberta. Early in Thomson's career, Thomson worked as a Crown Prosecutor for the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service, managing a high volume of cases involving victims of trauma, after starting out as criminal defence counsel; Thomson now conducts workplace investigations into harassment, sexual misconduct, and conflicts of interest. Thomson earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Victoria in 2000 and an LL.B. from the University of Alberta in 2006, was called to the Alberta bar in 2007, and was later called to the British Columbia bar in 2020. Thomson has taught employment law at the University of Victoria's law school, speaks frequently on labour and employment topics, and belongs to the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers, the Canadian Association of University Solicitors, and the Association of Workplace Investigators. Thomson is proficient in French, having attended Francophone schools in Northern Ontario.
