About Peter
Peter A. B. Durant earned an honours commerce degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2001 and his law degree from Dalhousie University in 2004, and was called to the bar in Newfoundland and Labrador in 2005 and in Ontario the following year. In 2017 he completed a certificate in clinical risk, negligence and claims management from Osgoode. Before joining his current firm in 2011 he practised plaintiff personal injury and class action litigation, giving him experience on both sides of the bar. Peter now represents insurance companies in arbitrations and appeals before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and in private arbitrations, and he has motion and trial experience in both Newfoundland and Ontario courts. He co-chairs the firm's Licence Appeal Tribunal and Loss Transfer and Priority Disputes groups and has broad experience with special investigations and disputes between insurers.
