About Heela

Heela Donsky Walker is a partner in the firm's Wills and Estates group, advising clients on estate planning, estate administration, and trust law. She works with clients holding assets in multiple jurisdictions and is known for structuring Canada-US cross-border estate plans. Her toolkit includes wills, powers of attorney, family trusts, alter ego and joint partner trusts, domestic contracts, and probate applications. Heela holds the Trust and Estate Practitioner designation and sits on the Toronto Board of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and has completed all three levels of the In-Depth Tax Course. Before joining Robins Appleby, she worked at a large national firm on tax and estate planning and family business succession, then at a boutique firm focused on Canada-US tax issues. She earned her J.D. from the University of Western Ontario in 2009 and her B.A. from York University in 2006, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2010.
