About Paul
Paul Cavalluzzo co-founded his firm and practises constitutional, labour, and administrative law, arguing significant cases before the Supreme Court of Canada, the courts of Ontario, and labour and administrative tribunals. He served as lead commission counsel to the Commission of Inquiry into the Actions of Canadian Officials in Relation to Maher Arar and, before that, to the Walkerton Inquiry into the 2000 E. coli water crisis. He has also acted as a Special Advocate in security certificate cases, reviewing classified evidence relied on by the government in Federal Court hearings. In constitutional law, he has argued cases before the Supreme Court of Canada recognizing a constitutional right to bargain collectively and to strike, and he has been active in litigation over educational and denominational school rights. He was awarded the Order of Canada, the Order of Ontario, and the Law Society Medal for his contributions to social justice and the rule of law. Paul was called to the Ontario Bar in 1973 and holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School.
