About Paul
Paul Scargall has practised expropriation law for more than thirty years, acting for landowners, municipalities, cities and regional governments across the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario on real estate acquisitions, infrastructure projects and development disputes. He has appeared before the Ontario Municipal Board and Local Planning Appeal Tribunal on major highway and infrastructure matters, including Highways 7, 11, 400, 401 and the QEW, and has served as an independent arbitrator on real estate disputes. Scargall taught Ontario Bar Admission courses and lectured for the Advocates' Society, and he is a past director and past president of the Ontario Expropriation Association. He was appointed a Deputy Judge for the Provincial Court's Civil Division in 1999 and became Honorary Consul for the Republic of San Marino in 2019. He earned his JD at the University of Toronto and was called to the bar in 1988.
