J. Alex Templeton is a partner in McInnes Cooper's St. John's office, maintaining a litigation and regulatory practice focused on administrative law, environmental law, privacy and access to information law, municipal law, and commercial law. He has argued at all levels of court in Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal, and has appeared before numerous boards and tribunals including the Newfoundland and Labrador Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities and the Standing Fish Price-Setting Panel. Alex is an elected Bencher of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador and serves on its SS Daisy Legal History Committee, and he chairs the Board of Directors of Econext, a not-for-profit focused on environmentally sustainable economic development in the province. He earned his LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick in 2006 and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2003, and was called to the Newfoundland and Labrador bar in 2007.
