About Tannis

Tannis A. Waugh is a real estate lawyer certified as a specialist in real estate law by the Law Society of Ontario since 2018, and she is also qualified by the Superior Court of Justice to give expert evidence on real estate matters. She practices in real estate, estate law and corporate law, and has experience serving as Estate Trustee During Litigation. Tannis was called to the bar after earning a B.A. in Law with a concentration in criminology and criminal justice from Carleton University and a J.D. from the University of Ottawa. As a former Trustee of the Toronto Lawyers Association, she has moderated and presented continuing education programs and written for the TLA journal, and she sits on the Condominium Sub-documents Committee of the Working Group on Lawyers and Real Estate, including its mentoring sub-committee. She frequently speaks on real estate, estate conveyancing and technology in real estate for organizations including the Ontario Bar Association and the Law Society of Ontario, and co-chairs the Law Society's 8 Minute Real Estate Lawyer program.
