Nicole E. Smith's practice combines personal injury law for clients injured in accidents with long-lasting injuries and workplace investigations for BC employers, and she also handles commercial and civil litigation. She represents injured people in disputes with long-term disability insurers and has represented clients throughout British Columbia, working toward negotiated or mediated solutions where possible but proceeding to trial when it serves the client's interests. She holds a certificate in workplace investigations from the Human Resources Professionals Association and helps employers develop investigation processes for bullying and harassment complaints. A Nanaimo resident for 25 years, she is an elected Bencher of the Law Society of British Columbia, vice-chair of its Discipline Committee, and a governor of the Trial Lawyers Association of BC. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria (2008) and a BA in History with distinction from Vancouver Island University.
