About Nicola
Nicola Simmons is a partner with a broad administrative law and advocacy practice that spans human rights, employment and human resources, privacy, civil litigation, and commercial disputes. She also advises education sector clients on matters such as student discipline, special education, family law issues, and school board governance. Nicola has appeared before various levels of court in Ontario and before tribunals including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Special Education Tribunal, and the Ontario College of Teachers. She is a contributing author to the book Education Law, 5th Edition, and co-authored the Annual Review of Education Law from 2015 to 2018. Nicola was called to the Ontario Bar in 2006 and holds a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Western Ontario. She previously chaired the Ontario Bar Association's Constitutional, Civil Liberties and Human Rights Section.
