About George

George Cottrelle is a partner whose employment law practice serves both employers and employees, covering employment contracts, wrongful dismissal and terminations, human rights issues, and general employment matters, including drafting and negotiating executive contracts and advising on directors' and officers' duties and executive compensation. He also has a business law and intellectual property practice, acting in shareholder disputes, corporate governance matters, acquisitions and divestitures, reorganizations, and procurement issues. He was called to the Ontario bar in 1980 and holds a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School. He has written and been quoted on workplace issues for The Globe and Mail, addressing topics such as severance, social media conduct after a layoff, and remote work rights.
