About Neil
Neil Abramson is a partner in the firm's Litigation Group and chairs its Health Professionals Group. His practice covers a broad range of civil litigation, from complex commercial disputes to torts such as defamation, negligence and employment claims. A significant part of his work involves defending health professionals in hearings before the Discipline Committees of Ontario's regulatory Colleges and on appeal before every level of court, and he has acted for medical staff associations and physicians in hospital privilege disputes. Neil is certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in both Health Law and Civil Litigation, one of only a few lawyers to hold both designations. For more than 30 years he has presented and written on healthcare law and litigation topics, and he is included on the Canadian Dental Protective Association's list of approved counsel. He was called to the Ontario bar in 1994 after earning his LL.B. from the University of Toronto.
