Landlord & TenantMurray Hannem began his career as a Lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Navy before earning a law degree and serving as a legal advisor to the Judge Advocate General's Office, reaching the rank of Captain. He has since built a strong property law practice serving commercial and residential clients across Cape Breton Island and is regarded as one of the island's most experienced estate practitioners. Murray was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 1978 and holds an LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick and a B.A. (Hons.) from Mount Allison University. He formerly directed the Nova Scotia Legal Aid Commission and chaired the Cape Breton and Victoria Counties Residential Tenancies Board.
