About Michael

Michael Velletta is a partner at Velletta Pedersen Christie, which grew out of his early practice with a global commercial law firm in Vancouver. He advises public companies, private corporations, small businesses, and individuals, with a commercial practice that spans Canada and extends internationally, including work for clients in Europe, Central Asia, the Pacific Rim, and Australia. As a trial lawyer, he's argued commercial disputes, malpractice claims, aviation cases, and serious personal injury matters before Canadian courts, tribunals, and international forums, including a multimillion-dollar contractual dispute litigated in Chile. He's served on the boards of several public companies and was a founding director of Petromanas Petroleum Corporation and MNP Petroleum Corporation. He studied business at the University of Calgary and holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria, and belongs to the Law Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, among others.
