About Michael
Michael H. O'Brien articled with Sullivan Festeryga LLP and was called to the bar in 1991, after earning his B.A. in history and political science from Carleton University and his LL.B. from the University of Victoria. His practice covers insurance defence work, including complex motor vehicle claims, property losses, trucking matters, and professional negligence, alongside an active criminal defence practice. He has conducted numerous jury and non-jury trials and has appeared at every level of court in Ontario, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Mike has served as a trustee of the Hamilton Law Association and remains involved with the Hamilton Criminal Lawyers' Association and the Ontario Criminal Lawyers' Association. He has also served on several community boards, including the Hamilton Community Justice Fund and the John Howard Society, and currently sits on the board of Head Injury Rehabilitation Ontario.
