About Michael
Michael Dew's practice focuses on commercial litigation, particularly construction law, creditors' remedies, insurance matters, and shareholder disputes. Drawing on his prior experience as a structural engineer, he handles technical construction matters including retaining wall and embankment failures, ground settlement, and structural failures, along with builders lien cases, foreclosures, and asset freeze orders. Prior to joining JML in 2011, Michael clerked for six justices of the BC Supreme Court, completed an internship with the Provincial Crown, and worked as an associate at a national firm and then as an insurance defence lawyer. He is enthusiastic about using technology, including cloud collaboration tools, to manage litigation data and improve client service.
