About Mel
Amelia (Mel) van Fram is an associate in Stewart McDannold Stuart's litigation group, maintaining a broad civil litigation practice with a focus on liability defence for local governments and health authorities in negligence, nuisance, misfeasance and judicial review matters. She advises on bylaw and regulatory enforcement, civil and statutory injunctions, Charter claims, contract disputes and challenges to municipal bylaws, and has a particular interest in encampments and geotechnical hazards. Before joining the firm as an articling student in 2022, van Fram spent eight years working for a BC municipality. She earned her JD from the University of Victoria in 2023 and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2024.
