About Jacob

Jacob Gehlen is an associate in Stewart McDannold Stuart's litigation group, serving local governments across British Columbia since relocating to Victoria and joining the firm in 2025. He previously practiced as a civil litigator in Vancouver, with experience in insurance defence, environmental law, commercial litigation, regulatory law, construction law and defamation, and has appeared as lead counsel at all levels of court in BC. Gehlen earned his JD from the University of Toronto in 2017 and a BA from McGill University, and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2018.
