About Matthew

Matthew Scott joined JSS Barristers as an Associate in 2021 after completing his articles with the firm. His practice focuses on administrative, public and regulatory law, appeals, arbitration, constitutional law, construction law, corporate and commercial litigation, injunctions, oil and gas litigation, privacy litigation, and securities and shareholder litigation, including experience leading a multi-party contractual arbitration. Born and raised in Regina, Matthew obtained his JD with great distinction from the University of Saskatchewan's College of Law in 2020, after studying political science with minors in French and Francophone intercultural studies at the University of Regina and for a year at Sciences Po in Rennes, France. He speaks both French and English, and in law school served on the editorial board of the Saskatchewan Law Review and as Vice-President of external affairs of the Law Students' Association. He received the William Elliot Entrance Scholarship and was a two-time recipient of the College of Law Upper-Year Juris Doctor Academic Achievement Scholarship.
