About Andrew
Andrew Wilson, KC is the former Managing Partner and Firm Chairperson of JSS Barristers, focusing on civil trial and arbitration advocacy and representing clients before administrative and regulatory tribunals. His practice covers complex commercial disputes, corporate and shareholder disputes, securities litigation, corporate governance, class actions, construction disputes, and regulatory offences, and he has appeared as lead counsel before all levels of court in Alberta and before the Alberta Securities Commission and CIRO. Andrew joined the Alberta Securities Commission as Enforcement Counsel in 2010, prosecuting securities offences including illegal insider trading and fraud, before joining JSS Barristers in 2014. He earned his BA in Economics from the University of Waterloo (Dean's List), his LLB from Dalhousie University (Dean's List), and his LLM from Queen's College, Cambridge University, and clerked at the Alberta Court of Appeal and Court of King's Bench after graduating. Called to the Alberta bar in 2002 and appointed King's Counsel in 2022, he has been named a Litigation Star by Benchmark Litigation every year since 2017 and chairs the Calgary Humane Society's board.
