About Brianne
Brianne Wheat joined JSS Barristers as an Associate in 2026 after articling with and practicing at a national firm, where she gained experience in civil, commercial, and energy-related litigation, insurance litigation, coverage disputes, professional negligence, and health law. She completed a Bachelor of Secondary Education before earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Saskatchewan in 2024, where she worked as a research student focusing on constitutional law and Indigenous self-governance and competed in the Laskin Moot. Brianne was called to the Alberta bar in 2025 and volunteers with the Court of King's Bench Amicus program. A classically trained violinist, she plays in a family barn dance band and has volunteered at senior centres as a fundraising violinist.
