About Maryse

Maryse Lapointe founded Lapointe Légal after beginning her career at a boutique Montreal firm. She practices civil litigation and human rights law, with a particular interest in abuse cases, elder rights, and other human rights matters. She currently chairs the board of directors of Face aux vents, an organization that promotes mental health through outdoor activity, and has served as a board member and chair of the ethics and governance committee for the Société québécoise pour la déficience intellectuelle (SQDI). She has volunteered as a lawyer at several Montreal legal clinics and, since fall 2023, supervises future lawyers as a supervising attorney for the Barreau's Bar School legal clinic. She won the 2024 Lawyer of the Year award in the civil and commercial litigation category at the Young Bar of Montreal's 'Leaders of Tomorrow' gala. She holds a law degree from the Université du Québec à Montréal and received the Barreau du Québec's award for legal clinic work for 2013-2014.
