Mark Horne has practised law in Victoria since 1979, principally in wills, estates, trusts and charities, and leads the firm's Inheritance and Incapacity Planning Group. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude), a Diploma in Secondary Education, an LLB, and a Fellowship in Equity, Trusts & Fiduciary Relationships, all from the University of Victoria, where he later taught the Succession course for many years. He was appointed Queen's Counsel (now King's Counsel) in 2009 and is a fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Council and an academician in the International Academy of Estates and Trust Law. He is a past president of the Victoria Estate Planning Council and the Victoria Wills and Trusts Subsection of the CBA, and serves as a trustee of the British Columbia Government House Foundation.
