About Lui
Lui Carvello is a lawyer and Registered Professional Planner who founded Carvello Law in 2010 after working with developers as a pre-law consultant and at McCarthy Tetrault, and after working in municipal and regional government. Before establishing the firm, he spent six and a half years with a boutique municipal law firm serving local governments across the province. Carvello has chaired the Canadian Bar Association's BC Municipal Law Section, served on the Planning Institute of BC's board from 2013 to 2025, and taught graduate planning law at Vancouver Island University. As of 2025, he has begun a planned sabbatical after transitioning his practice.
