Business & Corporate LawMark C. Woolgar is a partner whose practice is limited to corporate and commercial law, with particular emphasis on private company mergers and acquisitions and on start-up and early-stage growth companies. He has broad experience negotiating the purchase and sale of businesses, resolving commercial disputes through litigation and arbitration, arranging private financing, structuring shareholder arrangements, and advising on licensing and general commercial matters for long-standing corporate clients. Mark has spent his career advising owner-operators, family businesses, and entrepreneurs at every stage of the corporate cycle, and he is also a partner in a New York-based private investment firm that carries out buy-out transactions in the North American middle market. He has written and lectured for the Advocates' Society and the Law Society of Ontario, and has volunteered as a director of several not-for-profit and charitable organizations. He is a graduate of Western University (B.A.) and Dalhousie University (LL.B., M.B.A., 1989) and was called to the bar in 1991.
