Marino Sveinson is a Partner at Crawford Munroe Thomson LLP practising exclusively in workplace law, covering human rights, wrongful dismissal, labour relations, collective agreement disputes, employment contracts, privacy obligations, workers' compensation, corporate restructuring, and departing-employee disputes, and advises on collective bargaining and strike contingency planning. Sveinson has appeared before all levels of BC and federal courts, collective agreement arbitrations, human rights tribunals, provincial and federal labour relations boards, workers' compensation tribunals, and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of BC, representing both unionized and non-union employers. Sveinson earned a BA from the University of British Columbia in 1995 and an LL.B. from the University of Toronto in 1999, and was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2000 and in Yukon in 2014. Sveinson chaired the Human Rights Committee of the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers from 2015 to 2019, is a member of the Canadian Bar Association's Employment, Labour, Human Rights and Privacy subsections and a former co-chair of its Human Rights subsection, and formerly co-chaired Continuing Legal Education BC's Human Rights Conference.
