About Michael

Michael G. Armstrong has focused, since establishing an independent practice in 1990 (Armstrong & Company, the predecessor to Armstrong Simpson), on professional legal liability, construction disputes, personal injury, and general corporate/commercial/securities litigation. He was previously an associate and partner at a major Vancouver litigation firm, practising insurance defence and general litigation. Michael has appeared at all court levels in British Columbia, the Federal Court of Canada, and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as before administrative tribunals including the BC Human Rights Tribunal and the BC Securities Commission. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and studied law at Queen's University and the University of British Columbia, obtaining his Bachelor of Law degree in 1981. He was called to the British Columbia bar in 1982 and appointed Queen's Counsel (now King's Counsel) in 2012. He is a past executive member of the Vancouver Bar Association and a member of the Canadian Bar Association.
