About Mariette Niranjanan

Mariette Niranjanan is an associate lawyer at Unified LLP whose work splits between family law and wills and estates. Family clients come with parenting and support questions, property to divide, and child protection matters. On the estates side, Niranjanan prepares wills and powers of attorney, helps people plan ahead, and takes on estate litigation, including contested wills and disputes over how an estate's being administered.

Before Unified, Niranjanan practised at small specialized firms, where the files ranged from family disputes and estate work (both planning and litigation) to commercial matters and general civil suits. That wide background now carries into both halves of the current practice. Some cases are high-conflict and some involve a lot of value, and Niranjanan regularly advocates for clients in each.

Family law was part of the picture early. While completing a JD at the University of Ottawa, Niranjanan worked in the university's Family Law Legal Aid Clinic, and the education behind the practice also includes a master's in public administration from Queen's. Niranjanan is committed to a client-centred approach and aims for results tailored to each client's needs.
