About Margaret

Margaret De Marre is a partner at Scion Law whose practice is dedicated to tax disputes and litigation with the CRA, the Ministry of Finance, and the City of Vancouver. Margaret represents individuals, businesses, and other taxpayers during contentious audits, prepares and files notices of objection, appeals tax assessments to court, advises on voluntary disclosures and taxpayer relief applications, and challenges CRA actions in the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal. Margaret has over ten years of experience representing taxpayers in disputes with governmental authorities and several years handling tax planning matters at an international law firm. Margaret is a former Chair of the CTF Young Practitioners' Steering Committee for Vancouver and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada as a leading tax law practitioner since 2025. Margaret studied law at the University of British Columbia, worked as a research assistant to a leading Canadian tax academic, and has completed Parts I, II and III of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course.
