About Malvika

Malvika Mahindra is an Associate Lawyer focused on immigration litigation and appellate advocacy. She appears before all levels of the Immigration and Refugee Board, before Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, and before the Federal Court, handling refugee claims, removal proceedings and humanitarian applications. Malvika holds an honours B.A. in Psychology from York University and earned her LL.B. from the University of Sussex in Brighton, England. Before joining her current firm she articled and practiced at a boutique immigration and refugee law firm in the Greater Toronto Area, where she built a strong background in appellate and procedural work. Her practice includes drafting procedural fairness responses, humanitarian and compassionate applications, temporary resident permit requests, judicial review applications, pre-removal risk assessments, emergency stay of removal motions and detention reviews. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2024, belongs to the Ontario Bar Association, and speaks Hindi and French in addition to English.
