About Menal

Menal Al Fekih is an Associate Lawyer focused on immigration litigation and refugee protection. She appears for clients at hearings and appeals before the Immigration and Refugee Board and the Federal Court, guiding individuals and families through difficult immigration cases. Before entering private practice, she articled and worked at Legal Aid Manitoba, where she gained experience in immigration, family, and child protection law. Menal holds a BA in History and a JD, both from the University of Manitoba, and before law school she worked in the settlement sector supporting immigrant and refugee youth. She was called to the bar in Manitoba in 2022 and in Ontario in 2023, and speaks English and Amharic fluently with working knowledge of French and Arabic.
