Atwal practises in wills, estates and trusts with a focus on estate litigation, estate administration, and estate planning. He regularly acts for both executors and beneficiaries in estate disputes, including family maintenance and support claims, trust variations, trustee removals, and will challenges, and has appeared before the Court of Appeal of the Northwest Territories and the Supreme Court of Canada. His planning practice covers probate, wills, enduring powers of attorney, and personal directives, and he advises charities and private foundations on CRA governance compliance.
