About Emily

Emily Smyth helps clients create wills, enduring powers of attorney, personal directives and related documents, and works with them to obtain grants of probate and administer estates. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with distinction from the University of Victoria in 2011, then completed her JD at the University of British Columbia in 2015. She articled with a national firm in Vancouver before transferring to its Edmonton office and was called to the Alberta bar in 2016. Emily earned her Trust and Estate Practitioner designation from STEP Canada in 2021 and returned to her hometown of Calgary that year to join Underwood Gilholme.
