Personal InjuryMalcolm Smith is associate counsel who has practised civil litigation in British Columbia for almost 30 years, with a focus over the last 25 years on insurance defence and personal injury litigation. Early in his career he developed a diverse trial practice including as ad-hoc Crown and trial counsel in commercial and forestry litigation. Smith earned a B.Sc. in Geography from the University of Victoria (1992) and an LL.B. from Dalhousie University (1995), and was called to the British Columbia bar in 1997 and the Yukon bar in 2026. He was previously a partner at several Kamloops-area firms before joining Carfra Lawton as associate counsel.
