About Maggie
Maggie MacDonald is a litigator at Cavanagh LLP practicing insurance defence and commercial litigation, representing clients before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Toronto Commercial List, the British Columbia Supreme Court, and the British Columbia Court of Appeal. Originally from Ancaster, Ontario, she joined the firm in 2021 after practicing at a commercial and securities litigation boutique in Toronto, and she articled with a global litigation firm focusing on insurance, reinsurance, and commercial litigation, with additional experience in plaintiff-side personal injury litigation. She graduated cum laude from the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Common Law in 2019 and holds a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Waterloo, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2020. During law school she represented Canada at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in consecutive years, ranking 7th as a team and placing in the top 50 speakers in the world, and she has since helped organize and judge the Jessup's national and global rounds.
