About Lucy Lee

Lucy Lee is a partner in Cohen Highley's personal injury group in London and has been with the firm for more than 25 years. Lucy's litigation reaches every level of court in Ontario, up to the Court of Appeal, and takes in a long list of tribunals along the way. For Lucy, each file is the most important one, because it's important to the client it belongs to. Lucy sees the work as more than lawyering: it's about being a person who understands what someone is living through after a catastrophic event, when they're vulnerable in body and mind alike.

Lucy's legal career began overseas. After law school in England, Lucy trained as a barrister and was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales on a non-practising basis in 1998. A return to Toronto the following year meant articles with the Ministry of the Attorney General, and the Ontario call came in 2001.

The road to injury law started much earlier. Working and volunteering at Community Living London in their 20s put Lucy alongside children and adults with a range of physical and developmental abilities, and showed Lucy some of the obstacles people with disabilities and their families run into. Growing up as a second-generation immigrant, Lucy also got plenty of practice turning complicated ideas into plain, simple English. Once Lucy started in personal injury, it was clear that all of that personal, professional and volunteer experience had been leading to this field.

Lucy was born in Toronto but has called London home for most of Lucy's life. Away from work, Lucy is a foster parent and a keen soccer player, sits on the board of the St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation, and is a past president of the board at LEADS Employment Services London. In 2026 King's University College gave Lucy its Alumni Award of Distinction. As Lucy puts it, professional success comes with a responsibility to make the community a better place.
