About Lima

Lima Nizami was born and raised in Ontario and holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto - St. George, specializing in Women's and Equity Studies, and a Master of Arts in Gender and Social Justice from McMaster University. She earned her Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law, along with a Specialization Certificate in Aboriginal and Indigenous Law, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2025. Before joining Mercier & Associates, she trained at the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic, Feld Kalia Professional Corporation, Dalhousie Legal Aid Services, the Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service's Crown Attorney's Office, and family law firms in Guelph and Toronto, Ontario. She is currently pursuing a PhD at Laurentian University researching the intersection of gender and the law, and has transferred her licence from Ontario to practise in Manitoba. She is fluent in English, Dari/Farsi, and Pashto, with some knowledge of Turkish and Hindi.
