About Leor
Leor Margulies leads both the Commercial Real Estate and Development Group and the Real Estate Lending Group at Robins Appleby LLP. On the lending side he represents institutions such as BMO, Meridian, Home Trust, MarshallZehr, and Atrium Mortgage Corporation on construction loans and syndicated financings. On the development side he guides condominium builders, including the Sorbara Group and Kylemore Communities, from land acquisition through marketing, sales, and closing, and he's often called in when a project hits trouble with Tarion or the HCRA. Recent work includes helping fund two GTA land acquisitions worth $112 million and closing over $190 million in construction and land loan deals in a single year. Leor has sat on the BILD board and executive for more than 28 years and is one of the few non-builders in the BILD Hall of Fame. He earned his B.C.L. and LL.B. from McGill University and was called to the Ontario bar in 1981.
