About Leigh
Leigh Stansfield is a Partner at Crawford Munroe Thomson LLP practising labour and employment law, with an emphasis on workplace investigations involving bullying, harassment, and respectful-workplace matters, and has appeared as counsel in labour arbitrations, mediations, and at all levels of court in British Columbia. Before joining the firm, Stansfield practised criminal defence at a leading Vancouver Island firm, developing trial and appellate advocacy skills there. Stansfield earned a BA from the University of British Columbia in 2013 and a J.D. from the University of Victoria Faculty of Law in 2017, winning the William R. McIntyre Medal for academic achievement and student leadership, and clerked at the BC Supreme Court after graduating. Stansfield was called to the British Columbia bar in 2019, is a member-at-large of the Canadian Bar Association's National Labour and Employment Section, and belongs to the Human Rights Section of the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers. Stansfield joined the partnership effective July 1, 2026, becoming the first associate in the firm's history to reach partnership, and volunteers on the governance committee of AVI Health & Community Services.
