About Jarret

Jarret Janis leads Samfiru Tumarkin LLP's Labour and Employment Law group in Calgary as Managing Partner, and practices employment law across Alberta. He advises both employees and employers on wrongful and constructive dismissal, professional discipline, human rights and discrimination claims, harassment and bullying, occupational health and safety, and shareholder disputes arising in the workplace. A significant part of his work involves complex workplace investigations, including high-stakes allegations such as sexual violence, fraud, harassment and discrimination. Before joining the firm, he started his own Alberta employment law boutique in 2014, which grew into a regional practice with offices across Western Canada. He holds a law degree from Western Law and also studied at the University of Alberta and at Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labour Relations. He belongs to the Law Society of Alberta, the Law Society of British Columbia, and the Canadian Bar Association.
