About Laura

Laura Johnson represents workers, trade unions, and similar organizations across a range of forums, including grievance arbitrations, labour boards, human rights tribunals, and other regulatory bodies. She has also argued Charter of Rights and Freedoms cases at every level of court, up to the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. Laura joined Ryder Wright as an associate in 2022, became a partner in 2024, and was named Managing Partner in 2026, after spending more than a decade working in-house for trade unions representing public and private sector employees. Her practice spans human rights, constitutional, pension, and elections law, and she regularly represents public sector unions, faculty associations, and regulated health professionals before their colleges. She holds a J.D. from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, a B.A. from McGill University, and an Osgoode certificate in pension law, and she was admitted to the Ontario bar in 2010.
